Shannon Murphy is a graduate from University of South Carolina with a BA in broadcast journalism. Murphy plans to be multidimensional in the field of journalism, tapping into her editing, reporting and producing skills. Shannon hopes to work on the video production and multimedia side of media outlets like the New York Times, NPR and NFL Films.
Murphy has developed a passion for editing, writing, reporting and producing video news and sports stories. Every story is a chance to tell her audience something new and take hold of their attention longer than the average attention span can usually handle.
Murphy has become an advanced Adobe Premiere user, using the software to edit and produce news packages for Carolina News. Adobe Premiere is one of the many multi-media tools Murphy is well-equipped with.
Murphy currently works as a production assistant for Gamecock Productions. She is either shooting video, editing, or producing video content for Gamecock Athletics. She values creativity in her work especially when creating hype-videos for the next big game at Carolina.
Last semester Murphy was a part of the Carolina News program at USC which is a student-run news network at the university. The program is meant to simulate the experience of any real news network by going live at 4 p.m. everyday for viewers to tune in. Murphy worked as a producer, reporter, editor, anchor, etc.
